How to Open .EXP Files

  1. 1Open Melco Design Shop, Bernina ArtLink, or compatible embroidery software.
  2. 2Go to File → Open.
  3. 3Select 'Melco EXP (.exp)' from the file type filter.
  4. 4Navigate to your file and click Open.
  5. 5Assign thread colors as needed.

How to Save / Export .EXP Files

Color Information

EXP stores basic color change markers but does not embed a full thread palette. Thread colors must be assigned in your embroidery software. A companion .inf or .col file may accompany the EXP file with color information.
